Haley and running
ok, so a background first... Last year I was walking to the school to pick up Liv from preschool, and I saw that Haley's class was doing the mile run test. I stopped to watch Haley, and saw that she would run a little bit, then walk a lot..run a little...etc. I couldn't believe it. When she came home I asked her if she passed the mile. She said no. I contacted the teacher to find out what time they needed to finish it in to pass. I cant remember what it was...I think 10 or 12 min. Easily attainable for a 5th grader. Anyway, I told Haley there was no reason she should be walking, that I was sure she could run for a whole mile and wouldn't die. LOl! I found out when the next run was going to be and told Haley I was going to come watch and that she had better run, or I was going to run it with her. She freaked out and didn't want to be embarrassed like that. So of course on the day of the run, I was there...and she was walking again. So, like I said, I ran over to her to run it with her..and made her run. Needless to say, she passed. .. Well, I guess yesterday was the mile test, and I guess Haley was walking it, and her teacher from last year saw her and started saying to her that if she didn't start running, he was going to call me to come run with her. LOL!!! Love it!! So Haley is telling me this story this morning, and I was laughing so hard. Apparently, that was enough to get her running...and she said she passed by one second. haha! Such a funny girl Haley is. LOL!
Here's a pic of Haley after I ran beside her last year. She wasn't too happy with me, but she was really glad she passed and didn't have to run it again. haha!
