So, my sister Krista has been running lately, and lots of my friends run, and a girlfriend at the gym has begun running (and she has totally lost weight and looks great from it), so, I started to get the itch to run. Ive been going to a spin class for over a year and I love it, but I felt ready for a new challenge....so my friend and spin buddy Jasen and I decided to see how we did running a mile. Well, lets just say that we are both pretty competitive. Jasen made it in 8 minutes, and me in 10. I was seriously dying! I wanted to quit sooo bad, but I wasn't about to be upstaged by Jasen. I thought I was in shape from spinning, but running was a whole new challenge. Running felt great, but what felt best was that I finished! Now I'm all determined to get faster and go further. I'm not giving up spin, I love that workout, but I'm totally going to try running more in addition. Thanks for taking the challenge with me Jasen!

Hey Gwen...we should try racing once in a while...I am still slow and once my back has gotten back to normal I will get faster. It was fun going to Twilight. It would be fun to get the youth in our ward to go see movies every once in awhile.
That's so funny...I was bragging that my fastest mile (when I was in HS and doing aerobics and in shape) was like 12 minutes...Roger thought I was joking, but I'm totally not! I was so proud that I could actually finish. I can walk for miles, but running?? I've never felt the "high" - that hasn't been followed by vomiting ;) Good for you!
I guess I'm not only younger, but I'm faster too. hehe
Gwen, my sister wants me to do a spinning class at the gym, with her. How intese is it? I hear it is crazy hard.
